Welcome to the team!
Manta Rays was founded in 1995 with the vision to provide a recreational activity for children with special needs, who were interested in swimming. We are a recreational swim team, swimming keeps our members fit and they learn an important life skill too.
About the Manta Rays
We are a non-profit organisation, which relies on volunteers for coaching and administration. Our members are from Rockingham, Mandurah and the Greater Peel region.
We participate in the WA Disabled Sports Association (WADSA) swimming championships every year. We encourage all members to attend this meet as it is a great environment, and an introduction to competitive meets for the participants.
The Manta Rays swim once a week at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreational Centre (MARC) on Pinjarra Road. Training sessions run from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm every Wednesday during school terms.
Kids between 7 –17 are encouraged to join.
Annual fees include:
membership with the Manta Rays
insurance costs (set by Swimming WA)
affiliation fees (Mandurah Swimming Club)
Complete our membership form here:
For insurance purposes, members are also required to complete a Swimming WA Membership Form.
Members may be able to apply for financial assistance from KidSport. The program enables eligible Western Australian children to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance to assist with payment of membership fees. More information can found here:
Parent Management Committee
Our PMC meets once a term to discuss club matters. Parents are encouraged to attend these meetings, and to volunteer their time throughout the year with various fundraising activities.
We know it can’t all be swim and no play! We aim to run social activities during the year, including a great Christmas Party, attended by the whole family with delicious dinner, music and dancing.
Medals and trophies are presented to swimmers to acknowledge their hard work through the year. These events promote their team spirit and self-esteem. Father Christmas makes an appearance with his bag of goodies for the children. Our sponsors and patrons also attend the party.
